Boxholm II is a wooded fired steam ship from 1905
here lives the cormorant. Cormorants are very debated in Sweden since they eat fish, get caught in fishing nets and "destroy" islands.
The islands will recover when the colony moves. The cormorant guano contains ammonia which corrode the plants. After a while the ammonia will break down to nutrients that are useful for the vegetation.

Would you throw a bucket full of petrol in the lake? Some boat engines let out a third of the petrol unburnt, directly into the water. Put alkylate petrol in the fuel tank - that is a lot less toxic than ordinary petrol!
Organisms living in water are more sensitive than terrestrial organisms, so be careful of what you let out in the water!

In naturum you find four stations where you can listen to stories connected to the lake. Languages available are Swedish, English and German.
There are a lot of positive reactions when you go for a walk in the forest: heart and muscles get stronger, balance gets better, concentration increases and the amount of stress hormones decreases in your blood.
